Color & grain

• Heartwood: Due to the incense, intense medium to dark brown, occasionally with gray shimmer or light violet tones; evenly colored.

• Sapwood: reacts little to ammonia, remains light in color and usually has to be removed or optically concealed.

• Grain: Mostly even and fine to medium-sized, the treatment makes the structure and texture appear calmer, sometimes silkier.

• Average height: 30-55 m

• Trunk diameter: 0,8-1,2 m

• Hardness: Janka hardness approx. 4,500-6,000 N hard, but easy to machine.

• Weight: Density approx. 600-850 kg/m³ in air-dried condition, depending on species and origin.

• Durability: Medium to good durability Class 2-3 Smoking can slightly improve the natural resistance, but does not replace weather protection.

Frequent uses

• Furniture construction: Modern, dark design furniture, cutting boards, fronts, table tops and accent pieces have an elegant look similar to smoked oak or wenge.
• Interior fittings: Dark parquet floors, stairs, wall coverings even colouring, ideal for clear room concepts.
• Kitchens & bathroom furniture: Eucalyptus shows good durability in changing climatic conditions; smoked variants are often used for fronts.
• Woodturning & small parts: Smoked eucalyptus is also used for decorative items such as bowls, handles or writing utensils because of its color and workability.
