Color & grain

• Heartwood: Depending on the duration and intensity of the ammonia treatment, from medium brown to chocolate brown to deep dark, almost black. The color effect can range from warm brown to cool grey.
• Sapwood: reacts little or not at all to ammonia – therefore usually remains significantly lighter in color, which must be taken into account when cutting.
• Grain: Basically the same as natural oak – straight grained, with a striking pattern of wood rays; treatment makes contrasts more pronounced or more even.

Frequent uses
